Today, students and staff gathered in the Student Union to say farewell to longtime campus Police Officer Robert Ruiz. Ruiz, otherwise known by his badge number - 390, is leaving our district to take a job with Hidalgo County. The campus community gathered this morning to show their appreciation to him for his years of service and dedication.
Officer Ruiz was known for his friendly and helpful demeanor. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help students and staff feel safe and secure on campus. He was also a valuable member of the school community, participating in many events and activities.
Students and staff gave handshakes, cards, and small tokens of appreciation to Officer Ruiz and he was touched by the outpouring of gratitude from everyone. He will be missed by the entire AHSP-STEM campus community, but we wish him all of the best in his new job!
